With regard to this work: the scene told of common life and I wanted to represent it at a particular time. The table represents a legacy of the town while announcing an increase in customs duty to pass on the territory of Terni. The scene is enriched by other characters such as the various guards of the city walls, and any other civilians in one of the most important ports of the city: the so-called Porta Spoletina. A scene of bustle and passage as it surely could be in the city gates of the municipalities of that time.
("All weapons, armor and emblems are faithfully and properly inspired from frescoes, altarpieces and carvings of Umbria and Abruzzo the high. Among the artists we can mention Pietro Lorenzetti, and various other local artists as a second major the so-called "Master of the Pit", the Master of Sant'Alò, Marino from Perugia or "The First Master of the Blessed Clare of Montefalco").
